Mickey was at the Double SARRC Races at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead, Florida. Saturday, September 15, 2010.
After 20 minutes of qualifying. I qualified 16 out of 26. The race was 15 laps and I finished 10th overall and 4th in my division. Overall was good but we know each time I get on the track I get faster and stronger. That day my lap time was 1:41.348 the road course track is 2.210 miles. The goal for Sundays race was to try to get my time faster – shoot for 1:34.00 (Not to much pressure).
Sunday, September 16, 2012 consisted of the same schedule with 20 minute qualifying and a 15 lap race. It rained most of the night . The track had to be dried off. We were the first group on at 8:00 am and needless to say not everyone went on. Only 13 cars went out to qualify and I was one of them. For the race we decided to put rain tires on and needless to say we ere the only one that did. It did not start raining until we were off the track. I finished Second in my division, first for the V-8 Stock car division. Overall we looked at it as a good test of rain tires and we came to the conclusion – even if it rains – not good!!! Good weekend overall.
We will not be racing this weekend at East Bay Speedway in Tampa. The dirt car is having final issues and we want to make sure the car is put together correctly.
Next race weekend is September 29th and 30th at Daytona Speedway!! Hope to see you there!
